Times Up! Zoned Out!
OPI Two-timing the Zones
I thought that Two-timing the Zones was a bright, happy spring pink from the new OPI Fiji for Spring collection and that it would be a fun one. I really love these vibrant shades of pink partly because it looks fabulous on just about every complexion. One of the reasons I chose Two-timing the Zones is because I thought OPI would probably slay this one. I mean they have been making nail polish since 1989... OK so it's not as long as I was originally expecting but that's still 29 years of experience. Just about every salon I have ever been to has walls lined with OPI so it's an industry leader right? A bright pink should be a cake walk with all that experience! I Apparently not. The formula didn't live up to my expectations of OPI. It has a decent consistency but it's not all that great at self leveling and my first coat was patchy. I managed to even things out with the second coat but it was not easy and even then it was not as smooth looking as you would expect a cream polish to be. It is however extremely photogenic and it look much better in the picture than in person. This is two coats with top coat.
I stamped spring flowers in burgundy with a stamping polish I purchased from Born Pretty over Two-timing the Zones. This camouflaged the imperfections in the polish and I was quite happy the way my nails turned out. This collection consists of twelve colors and since I've only tried one so far I'm not going to totally dismiss it. OPI still makes a few of my favorite polishes so I feel that a few misses here and there are forgivable but I really hope that they improve this formula in the future. I would hate to see them lose their coveted spot on the salon walls because the quality was lacking.
