Mean Spirited!
Kokie Spirited
I have been looking forward to wearing Kokie Spirited since I first laid eyes on it. It's a glittering metallic spring green. I found consistency of this formula a bit different then the other Kokie polishes I have tried so far and I encourage you to read through my other reviews here. The formula was thicker and not as creamy as I was expecting, right away I could see that if I did not exercise a bit of care while applying it It would have the potential to show brush strokes. This is pretty much true for the majority of metallic polishes but as my nails dried the brush marks mostly leveled out to the point where they were just about non existent. Spirited also has some silver and gold particles in it which add a beautiful sparkle and enhance the metallic effect. I had to play around to figure this polish out. As my nails were drying the glitter gave it a slightly bumpy look that I first mistook for my polish bubbling . I figured out pretty quickly that the glitter gives it a bit of texture. It's far from being a textured polish but it does have a gritty feel to it. I felt that this polish would have look better on my nails without top coat.... Shocking I know but top coat just made the glitter look a little like bubbles in the polish. I wish I had thought of going matte with this one because I think it would be very well suited to that. I was curious to find out how removal would go since glitter can be a bit clingy and I wouldn't want to leave that part out. I had no trouble removing it and I was really happy to see that there was no staining either. Much like blue polishes, greens can leave their mark on your nails so you might want to consider doubling up on the base coat if you are applying a suspicious or unknown green. As for Spirited, would I recommend it? Sure, It's pretty, reasonably priced and glitters. The formula was not difficult to manage at all and dried fast. .
