Soo Shifty!
China Glaze Pearl Jammin'
I have seen China Glaze Pearl Jammin' around a time or two but it just never really spoke to me so I kept passing on it. I heard a few people talking about it and they were really crushing on it so I decided to check it out. It was released this fall as part of the Rebel 2016 collection. At first I thought it was a pale grey with pink opalescent shimmer. I started painting my nails with it and I was seeing a pale blue with a gold shimmer. I applied two coats with top coat for this picture. The color is very hard to capture with a camera not because it is bright and loud but because it's so shifty! The base color is a pale pearly grey with blue undertones but the gold shimmer is constantly flashing you and the pink shimmer is not far behind. I'm really glad I decided to try it out and I finally understand why my fellow nail polish lovers were loving this color. The formula has a great consistency, though it's a touch sheer, as a pearly color can be. I found that two coats provided me with enough opacity that no visible nail line remained. It does show some brush strokes but the camera picks them up a fair bit more more than the naked eye does.
I was not sure what to pair with Pearl Jammin' so I decided to stamp it with China Glaze Concrete Catwalk, a grey with green undertones. I tried a new plate that I found a bit challenging... The image was just a touch shorter than my nails. It was a learning curve and I am not 100% satisfied with the end results but next time I know it will turn out better. I found the shifty nature of Peal Jammin' to be a lot of fun. Every angle and change of lighting caused it to change color, keeping it exciting. If you have not tried it yet I encourage you to pick it up and give it a go.
