Essential Essie!
Essie Lapiz of Luxury
According to Essie you should wear Lapiz of Luxury any time you would like to escape to dreamy ocean blue bliss. I would not call this color ocean blue but maybe I didn't have enough beach side margaritas. I see this as an absolutely gorgeous cornflower blue that I cannot get enough of. It's another gem that I received as part of my Mother's Day gift. When I first put it on I had to give Mr. Nailvanna a smooch for picking out something this pretty! The formula was just like Turquoise & Caicos and a dream to paint with. Even though it is a cream polish it has that jelly squishy feel to it. While it is easy to control and dried shiny you will need two coats for opacity. My first coat looked pretty streaky but the second coat left no hint of that and as is typical of Essie it excels at self leveling. I applied top coat before taking this picture of Lapiz of Luxury. I was happy with my mani and I was sure that I was done painting my nails for the night. Nope not going to add anything to it because this color is perfect....
Liar liar pants on fire! I left my stamper sitting on my desk all cleaned up and ready to go yesterday. I'll do one nail I thought to myself. Since I started picking through my stash of nail goodies with the hopes of becoming a bit more organized I have found a number of things I am just dying to try and quite a few of them are stamping image plates. I should have learned from my conversations with mini me, that organizing is code for making a mess! In the past if I was not 100% satisfied with the way my experimenting turned out the picture probably did not get posted. I mean who takes a selfie on a bad hair day right? For me it's the same with my nails. Want to see me make a hot mess? It turns out that sometimes what I wasn't happy with my friends loved... This convinced me to take a few more pictures and post them. Some of which are going to be a win, while others may be a total fail, but time will tell. I was only "testing" this image plate on one nail so naturally all my digits are covered. I debated on doing my toes next before I realized it was way past my bedtime. Essie Blanc was close at hand so I used that as a stamping polish. I added a coat of Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter on top of it. It consists of various sized iridescent glitter bits in a pink jelly base that softened up my design and gave it a little bling . It changed the color of my polish more towards periwinkle. A pretty spring manicure just in time for the start of fall.
I loved the way my thumb turned out the most. I had a lot of fun just playing around with no real plan. As a final step I added a layer of top coat. I seem to have the most fun when I play around with no real plan. Today I leaned that Blanc makes a decent stamping polish, Pinky Glitter is lovely topper, and that Lapiz of Luxury is a gorgeous polish. You never know what will happen next in Nailvanna land. Make sure you check in tomorrow!
