Good Glistener
Pure Ice Good Glistener
Pure Ice Good Glistener came home with me recently when I spotted it on a trip to Walmart. I have picked up a few of these polishes here and there but have not had the opportunity to review them. Good Glistener reminded me of Sinful Colors Slay Grey and since I loved that polish I wanted to try this one as soon as I saw it. As with Sinful Colors this was part of a two step Gel Tech system but since I opted to use my own top coat with Slay Grey I did the same with Good Glistener to keep things on the same playing field. I did compare the colors side by side and I found that Good Glistener is more taupe than grey and the gold shimmer is a bit more copper. I compared the two side by side so you could see the differences. Definitely not in dupe territory here and I love the colors of both.
The formula for Good Glistener was a bit thin so I had to use three coats before adding top coat for opacity. After two layers I could still make out my nail line. You may be able to get away with two coats if you apply the polish a little thicker but since the camera will amplify every little flaw I did not want to take a chance. The consistency was smooth and application was easy and I saw no signs of streaks. I love when a neutral polish has a bit of a kick to it as this one does. The neutral colors are very conservative and very office friendly, however the delicate gold shimmer is anything but boring. I love that the polish wore well and when I removed it I did not have any apparent tip wear; though a good top coat is definitely helpful. No one likes to have a manicure that looks past it's prime, but the truth is that sometimes we get so busy with work and other obligations that no matter how hard we try we just do not have time for fresh nails. When you know things are hectic Pure Ice Good Glistener is ideal as it hides flaws and imperfections beautifully and the wear time is excellent! The price of Pure Ice polish is incredible as well. Great if you are on a tight budget or if you are like me and just love a good bargain. I mentioned to you guys just the other day that I plan on going though my collection for some untried polishes. I know for certain that Pure Ice will have to be on that list because I am pretty happy with today's manicure.
