Mini Me
Cupcake Polish Water You Doing?
This is the fist time have tried Cupcake Polish. I had seen it swatched before and have admired it more then once, It's not that I haven't wanted to try it ... It's just have been trying to be a little more conservative about my nail polish collecting. So clearly I have once again failed at the attempt. Let's just move on lol. I try to let my little girl help me out when I shop for new polish and this one was one of her first choices while online polish shopping. We both waited as patiently as we could for our order to arrive. She asked if she can help me out doing the review on this as "she saw it first"and we decided to do it as a team. Water You Doing? is a linear holo aqua polish that is such a pretty color! Even indoors in the office the holo is apparent. In the sunlight it's bloody blinding!
The formula was perfect, went on smooth and covered fully in two coats. I was very happy with this nail polish but was not really expecting more. Mini me had been distracted while I initially played around with the polish but it didn't take her long to figure out I was playing with "her polish". She sat down beside me and announced she was ready for her mani, and she was grinning ear to ear. She is used to getting her nails done... I do hers fairly frequently and encourage her to practice as well because practice makes perfect. Every time she is super happy to get her nails done. Never seems to get bored with it. She really is such a girl! The brush was perfect for her tiny nails but was also great when I was doing my own. I think this is mostly due to the amazing formula but if the brush was bigger it would have been a little trickier to work with on the kiddy nails. Below we can clearly see her demonstrating her you will have to pry this polish from my cold dead hands approach to modeling her polish lol. I guess we will have to work on the death grip.
My surprise came on day two and three. Most women who have girls and paint their nails will tell you that it usually doesn't last long. They are rough on their little hands playing in sand, dirt, crafts and who knows what else they get into when we aren't looking. I can paint her nails and two days later she is almost 100% polish free without a drop of nail polish remover being used. It pops right off at times and no matter what base or top coat we use it never seems to make a difference. It could be her body chemistry, could be her behavior, but either way nail polish just does not last on her nails. This time her nail polish was still almost perfect on day three. She cracked me up because she was telling anyone who would listen that she had Water You Doing? on her nails by Cupcake Polish and it was holographic. She was like a walking commercial. She was very excited to have a nail polish with lasting power and already asking how long until we get to shop for more. Anyone else out there with kids who has had similar experiences I would love to hear from you.
