Flawless Finish and a Swoon Worthy Shimmer!
Kokie Heavenly
Kokie Heavenly looked like a pretty light blue polish in the bottle and since you may have noticed I enjoy wearing blue nail polish, it was just a matter of time before I put this one on. Lately I have been gravitating towards the darker colors, but I found myself craving something a bit lighter. Heavenly is not only the name of the polish but it could describe the formula as well. It applied smooth and leveled very nicely. I find that the pale blues are hit or miss because they can often be patchy. Heavenly is a hit with a flawless finish in two coats. It's not exactly the blue I was expecting either. It's a sky blue with hints of lavender that is traditionally more of a color we associate with spring. I found it quite refreshing to see Kokie included a color like this in their fall collection.
Kokie Bewitching
When I find a product I like, I want to try everything they make. Nail polish is a bit problematic because I don't like to just swatch and go, so it takes me a bit to make my way through a collection. I prefer to wear it for at least a day and see how it holds up. Luckily for me the weekends give me a couple of extra days to play and it's not always just my own nails that get painted! Bewitching looks very dark in the bottle. I knew it would be sparkly but I had no idea that it would be this gorgeous on. It is a vampy eggplant filled with a swoon worthy gold shimmer. It is a dark one but not so dark that it is mistaken for black. The formula was almost a one coater. If you apply your polish thin like me you will need two coats, but just barely. If you are a bit heavier handed you might make do with just one. No matter how I tried to take a picture of this polish my flash insisted on going off and in the end it was for the better. It allowed you to see how densely packed the shimmer is almost like a galaxy. Indoors and out Bewitching is dark and sparkly. Perfect for a Halloween inspired mani!
OK so this was not Halloween inspired... but since Bewitching was so pigmented I wanted to see how it stamped. I did say I would be posting the hits and the misses a bit more frequently. I liked the way my nails turned out although it just wasn't the Halloween inspiration I was looking for. The shimmer that makes Bewitching so beautiful is what interferes with it's stamping potential. Glitter polishes in general do not make great stampers but I wanted to try. If you have a steady hand for freehand nail art it would certainly be worth a try. I debated trying it with water marble but then I had a good laugh. Water marbling is one of those techniques that makes me cringe. The end product looks fabulous but the process is so messy that I have stayed away from it in general. Maybe one day? I don't know, but what I do know is that I will be wearing Kokie again very soon. I loved both of these polishes and would recommend you trying them out as well.
